Well in the 80s I've been to young to go on concerts. Afriend of mine and I started to go together a few years back with "subway to sally" and "In Extemo" both German Bands that also sing in German or Latin or old German.

I've heard a cuple of the names you metioned, like ozzy (who hasn't?) motorhead, alice cooper... but I don't know if I know the music. When i was little the first thing my father used to do in the morning was put an LP on the player and start the day with music. so I guess I heard a lot but never knew the names.

I think it might be easier for American bands to come to Europe than for European bands to come for America. A lot of music just comes with movies and makes it to the European radios though that might be different in each country. The French have a 70% minimum of French music in their radios...
The only German band I know that is known in the states would be Ramstein but they also made an appearance in the "triple x" movie.

ok cool i will check them out, i been to many concerts mostly in the 80's but i like to check out local bands alot.some concerts i een to are , i seen Iron Miaden twice back in the 80's piece of mins tour annd powerslave tour,seen ozzy twice in 82 diary of madman tour,and ozzy fest 98,with tool megadeth,motorhead.i seen sabbath 3 times,only once with ozzy singing in 1999 reunion tour with pantera.i seen saxon with rush in 1980.been to alot more, lats concert i went to was sabbath with dio singing( heaven and hell) with alice cooper ,queensryche.alot of metal bands that never really made it big here in states are big over in europe ,the only ones i can think of right now that play over in europe alot are steel assassin,and meliah rage.check out some old metal bands like riot there from new york city not sure if there still together but they have had a bunch of different singers , there best cds are born in america and fire down under.check out purerockradio.com. they play lots of metal on there and can request stuff from there list i have found alot of new metal bands buy listening to them.

Lordi and Ensiferum are Finnish. Sabaton, Amon Amarth and Oeath are Swedish. Silverlane is German.

I have to sdmit that i don't know most of the names you mentioned, propably because I never remember the names.

I have seen Iron Maiden and Nightwish life last year. Also Children of Bodom, Lordi,Avantasia, Corvus Corax, Sabaton, Moonspell, Craidle of Filth, Gorgoroth, Ensiferum and a cuple of others. I guess with metal it is an advantage to live in Europe because many good bands tour here since they often are from Europe. Well and I have been to the W:O:A festival last summer. This year it will be the summer breeze festival in Dinkelsbühl and possibly the W:O:A again

Hard Rock I like Meat Loaf, Uriah Heep and Iron Butterfly. There are more but again i don't know the names.
