A Hero Among us
John, husband of Melanie is under contract to FEMA and has been dispatched to Texas to assist in the Hurricane Ike efforts. He is currently at Ft. Sam Houston AFB in San Antonio, TX. You may have seen John at Java Jam Drum Circles at The Dragon Den.
Please send whatever energies you can for John and Melanie. He could be gone as long as two months.

Michael Carr said… - I just wanted to send a quick thank you to everyone who attended and helped our handfasting re-commitment tonight. You have no idea how happy your presence made us. We both had such a wonderful time. If you missed it, wow. Here are a couple of juicy details for you. Diane was completely surprised by the whole thing. She did tear up when I made the proposal, dressed in a kilt and wearing a sword. Amanda and Gina took her into The Dragon Den and put her hair up in a French braid (which she has been wanting to do since she let her hair grow long), and a headpiece made by Melanie. My son Matt turned the information table into a handfasting arch while that was being done.
When she was finished I walked her around the circle and as we stepped into the handfasting arch, a RAINBOW appeared over us. Michelle Flood and Gaelyn performed the ceremony followed by Drumming, Dancing and Singing.
I now feel that I am the richest man in the world and am more closely connected with my wife and all of you.
